IN THIS LESSON

Equip Fire & EMS personnel with essential knowledge and skills to effectively respond to domestic violence incidents.

This training covers recognizing the dynamics of domestic violence, ensuring scene safety, identifying signs of strangulation, and providing trauma-informed care. Participants will also be introduced to local and national resources and learn strategies for improving their response to domestic violence.

At the end of this 4-hour course, participants will have gained critical knowledge and skills to improve their response to domestic violence incidents. This includes understanding the dynamics of abuse, ensuring safety on the scene, providing trauma-informed care, identifying signs of strangulation, and using proper documentation techniques. First responders will also be better equipped to refer victims to local and national resources, ultimately enhancing their ability to support victims effectively.
